There is no right pace for this. Some families start straight away, others wait. This page sets out what usually happens and when, what to keep aside, and how we work around you when you are ready.
What usually happens, and when
At the start
Look after the paperwork first
Nothing needs clearing yet. Find the will, if there is one, and speak to the executor or a solicitor about who is responsible for the house and its contents.
Before anything leaves
Go through the home yourselves
Walk through each room. Set aside papers, photos, jewellery and anything with meaning. Agree within the family who wants what.
When the house is ready to empty
Get a price for the rest
Take photos of each room and send them through the quote form. We give you a price before we start, so nothing is left to guess.
On the day
The house is emptied
We carry everything out from inside, and the whole job is done in one visit, with no limit on items.
Afterwards
Hand the keys back on
With the rooms clear, you can get on with selling, letting or handing the property over.

How we work around the family
Step 1
You send photos
A few taps and some pictures of each room is all we need. You can send them in your own time.
Step 2
We price it up front
You get a price from your photos before we start, so you know where you stand.
Step 3
We carry everything out
We take it all out from inside the house, so you don't lift a thing.
Step 4
One visit, then it is done
The whole job is finished in one visit, and you can hand the keys back.
The kind of homes we are asked to clear
Photos customers sent with their quote requests: the kind of jobs we take on.

It does not all have to be one job
Many homes have more than the rooms you can see. There may be a garage, shed or loft full of things nobody has opened for years, or a garden that needs tidying before a sale.
You can send photos of all of it in one quote. Read more about our house clearance, garage, shed and loft clearance and garden clearance, or see how we handle furniture and appliance removal if only the big items are left.
Questions families ask us
Should I wait for the will to be dealt with before clearing?
Check with the executor or the solicitor first. They can tell you what must stay and what can go. You can send us photos for a price while you wait, with no obligation.
What if I am not sure what is valuable?
Keep aside anything you are unsure about, and take photos. If something might be worth money, ask a valuer or the solicitor before it leaves the house.
Is there a limit on how much you will take?
No. The whole job is done in one visit, with no limit on items, and you get the price up front from your photos.
Do I have to lift or carry anything?
No. We carry everything out from inside the house, so you don't lift a thing. Just keep aside what you want to hold on to.
