Do
- Wear gloves, eye protection and a dust mask when you break it up
- Stack sheets flat and keep them dry
- Bag offcuts in small, strong bags you can carry
- Keep it separate from other rubbish
Don't
- Don't mix it with soil, bricks or general waste
- Don't leave it out in the rain, as wet board gets heavy and crumbly
- Don't burn it
- Don't overfill bags, because the weight adds up fast

Why the limit matters at the tip
The tip takes plasterboard only up to a limit, and charges £1.60 a bag. A whole room’s worth of stripped board can add up quickly, and a van needs a permit.

Yes. The charge is £1.60 a bag, and plasterboard is accepted only up to a limit. A van needs a permit.
Can you take plasterboard with other rubbish?
